chip battles a bug
Published April 9, 2008Views: 178
On Saturday April fifth Chip announced that he was sick. He was shaking out of control and could not control his body temperature. He has what’s called the GI bug. Chip doubled up on water and Dr. Stevens gave him some medicine to make him feel better. So far Chip is at 16,200ft and he says “All is good.” Chip should arrive at base camp on the 7th of April. Chip passed by a memorial for all of the sherpas and western climbers who didn’t make it to the top of Everest. His team of mountain climbers visited the Tengboche monastery where they were blessed by the Rinboche Lama, a religious leader who is living in his thirteenth reincarnation! A young Lama was kind enough to take a picture with our famous flag!

I hope Chip isn't afraid to turn around if he isn't up to par. Lots of people do.

Also, they have maps to show you what the climb path is, where they hope to be on certain dates, and where they are now.
This is REALLY exciting to read about here on GOLO. And having NASA along with them is a terrific bonus!
Thanks for the updates!
