church protestors at the funeral of eve carson & auburn student

Westboro Baptist Church, a group known for protesting and picketing funerals and memorials of fallen soldiers, is planning to picket at the Sunday afternoon funeral of 18-year-old Auburn freshman Lauren Burk, according to the group’s Web site. Burk was killed Tuesday night. Police are investigating her death as a murder.
Westboro Baptist Church, established in 1955, is an Kansas-based organization lead by Pastor Fred Phelps.
The group is also planning to picket the funeral of Eve Carson, UNC student body president who was killed Wednesday morning.
Both funerals are listed on the WBC site’s online picket schedule for Sunday.

Military people die for a cause and it is only the respect for that cause that keeps these people from having their kneecaps broken when they show up at a military funeral.
These girls died for nothing and a lot of people are mad. Someone is going to love to have an opportunity to take their frustration out on someone.

i found that phelps and his members give all christains a bad name.
i am for freedom of speech....its easy to be for it when you agree with the speaker...harder when you dont....
with that said...i am also aware that running your mouth has consequences...its time someone just biotch slapped these people... many people such as myself would be more than glad to go their bail ....
to the parents of these young ladies: its more than sad to see this happen to you and your families. our hopes and good wishes are with you. Please understand these people are an extreme.

good advice. about ignoring them. It is hard for people to do, they are as cruel as they can be. Picketing funerals. I do not understand their concept of being christians.

I agree with, and I will defend, their right to protest and to express their opinions. Even when my personal beliefs and theirs do not coincide.
After all, it’s supposed to be a ‘free’ country. Censorship, in any of its many forms is a bad thing, in the long run.
But c’mon people, there’s is a thing called common decency, too ....
