Westboro Baptist Church, a group known for protesting and picketing funerals and memorials of fallen soldiers, is planning to picket at the Sunday afternoon funeral of 18-year-old Auburn freshman Lauren Burk, according to the group’s Web site. Burk was killed Tuesday night. Police are investigating her death as a murder.

Westboro Baptist Church, established in 1955, is an Kansas-based organization lead by Pastor Fred Phelps.

The group is also planning to picket the funeral of Eve Carson, UNC student body president who was killed Wednesday morning.

Both funerals are listed on the WBC site’s online picket schedule for Sunday.

These are the same people that protest at dead soldiers funerals and run the godhatesamerica website. Let them know what you think of their actions:

Give them a piece of your mind!

Sure they have the freedom of speach right, but wheres the familys right to have a peaceful funeral service?

"You will never see these people at a gang members funeral. Have you ever wondered why?"

Because they're more worried about who's gay than who's in a gang.

Somehow half of my post did not show up below..so I will state it once again.. "These people will meet their match and one day they will be stopped. I only hope the media covers it as much as they covered these fools during their protests." whew glad I got that off of my chest.

The right to freedom of speech has it's limitations. Individuals do NOT have the right to incite violence, which they will with their vile words/posters. I only hope the media covers it as much as they covered these fools during their protests.

Unbelievable. Who are these people? They also protest at military funerals too. Just one time, the police need to turn their heads so that someone can open up a nice big can of "whupass" on them.

These folks need to be B!tch Slapped by the "hand of God".

thats the best comment I've heard all day! :)

They come for the publicity, and we give it. I'm surprised the KKK hasn't thought of it.

"These folks need to be B!tch Slapped by the "hand of God"."

Amen!!!

These folks need to be B!tch Slapped by the "hand of God".
