butt in!

So I thought I would try my first blog. Here’s something that ticks me off every time I see it. You’re driving down the road and the car in front of you rolls down its window just a few inches and out it comes…somebody’s butt (of the cigarette variety). In the past I have pulled alongside and commented on the beautiful car and how sad the driver couldn’t spring for an ashtray for it. The only way to solve this problem is to take a page out of American politics and throw some red, white and blue at it. So here goes…
AMERICA IS NOT YOUR ASHTRAY
(Queue patriotic background music and images of flag waving in background)
Hey you! Yeah you in the pick-up with the rebel flag draped across the back glass behind the rifle rack…or you, ma’am…in your silver Lexus and your obviously “not from around here” accent… don’t you know that sailors, soldiers, airmen and marines are fighting and dying in Iraq to protect your right to smoke in this country? Their blood is being spilled in a foreign country to protect this land that you are so carelessly trashing with the by-product of your nasty habit. Don’t you care about the hardships that their families are enduring over your thoughtlessness?
Almost 4000 heroes have lost their lives in Iraq for America. Think about that the next time you throw your butt out the window…you left wing commie pinko…
You are obviously NOT supporting our troops.

note: please do NOT interpret this as an attempt to minimize the sacrifice of our military abroad (as a navy vet, I would never do that). Feel free to look at this as a parody of the political propaganda machine against something that really does tick me off…

I hate riding my motorcycle that has no windshield behind them...luckily I cover myself up, but I don't know if my jacket is fireproof and I don't want to find out!! :-P
