There have been the many times McCain has called reporters 'liars' and 'idiots' when they have had the audacity to ask him unpleasant, but pertinent, questions.
Many people, me included think that John McCain is legally insane! He must be stopped at all cost! True conservatives unite!

Attributing anyone's lack of literacy or facility with certain subject matters to alleged drug use, however, most definitely is an unwarranted attack on character.
Tactics of that sort represent the type of character assassination engaged in by intellectually lazy individuals who find it easier to malign a person than to debate that person's ideas. They contribute nothing to a civil discourse and, at the risk of being repetitive, are unwelcome here.

While others who write here simply lack either good manners or tact.
