shotgun preteen vs. illegal alien home invaders

I am all for allowing people in our country as long as the do it legally! I am not sure if this story has been posted here but I saw it on the NRA site the other day and wanted to share it. This may be old news for some of you. Sorry if it is.alien Home Invaders
Butte, Montana, November 5, 2006.
Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.
It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.
Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.
When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.
Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news....
Thought for the day:
Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'

A LIE can travel halfway around the world before the truth gets its boots on. This quote from humorist Will Rogers applies many times over to this thread, where it has taken well over a year for a false story to be exposed. This is what is called an urban legend, or fraud, or more plainly, a lie, and when important issues are being debated it is essential for our media to take responsibility for honest reporting, even at this late date. A check on the Snopes.com website reveals that this story, however powerful a "proof" of good triumphing over evil, is a slick lie. Good can and should triumph over evil, but not by exploiting our gullibility. Here's the link, see for yourself: http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/homeinvasion.asp

Mr. Heston.... you mean OUR U.S. PRESIDENT from 1992 - 2000? :)

Truthbknown- I couldn't agree with you more regarding the media. "Out of my cold dead hand" Mr. Heston said it wisely!

One would think with that kind of information, so many anti-gunners would possibly change their stance. Makes you wonder what is the agenda of the mainstream media with regard to guns.

The national wires rarely pick up stories that put guns in a good light. Other information they don't want you to know about:

Guns are used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year—or about 6,850 times a day. This means that each year, firearms are used more than 80 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.

Armed citizens kill more crooks than do the police. Citizens shoot and kill at least twice as many criminals as police do every year (1,527 to 606). And only 2 percent of civilian shootings involved an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal. The ‘error rate’ for the police, however, was 11 percent, more than five times as high.

Great Story!!

Amazing how we never hear the GOOD gun-related stories. Clearly the mainstream media has an agenda, and it is not supportive of gun ownership. How many times to people use guns to successfully defend themselves in this country and we never get to hear about it.

Beautiful story, with an even more beautiful ending. Not to mention, two LESS people to deport!

Very glad the father taught his daughter how to use a gun.

davis2 and feister redneck diva- I agree with you as not all are criminals. But the sad thing is we know nothing about the illegal ones until they are caught. At that point are we able to tell what type of person they are through all of their aliases. This is what makes the illegal alien thing all too scary. We know nothing about who or what their intentions are.

It's sad for the little girl that she was forced to do this. I don't imagine that at 9 I could have been that courageous under pressure. I'm glad that she knew how to take care of herself.
