how do you shop for christmas?
Published Dec 12, 2007Views: 230
Do you typically have all of your shopping completed by the beginning of December or do you prefer to wait until right before Christmas and do all of your shopping at once?
I like to have the majority completed by or close to Thanksgiving, reserving the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas for decorating, baking and just enjoying the season.
Traditions???
We spend Christmas Eve at my sisters with my family. Christmas morning is at home to see what Santa has brought the kids. Christmas afternoon is spent at my husband's parents house to celebrate with his family.
Every year, my mother-in-law makes this onion spread that is INCREDIBLE. She also makes ritz peanut butter cracker sandwiches and dips them in white chocolate. YUMMY!!!! We tried one year with milk choc. Not as good! Sausage/cheese balls are also a tradition.
Anyone care to share their traditions?

Real friends will get a gift of at least $20.00
Family (close/immediate) it depends. I like to buy needs, not wants.
This year my theme was jewlery only b/c JC Pennys had an awesome sale and I find that I buy for more women that men.
I wait until the month of December. I am never prepared. We spend that day with whomever volunteers there home. Mostly, I go home to be with my mom and brother.

Last year, I bought my husband a gift that I knew he would figure out based on the size of the box. It's all he asked for and he was definitely expecting to get it. So I stuffed a shirt box with old towels and wrote the words, "Oops! Wrong box" on the inside of the box. He tried to act curious and excited, but I could tell he was disappointed by the size of the box-knowing it wasn't what he had been asking for. After he unwrapped the box, opened it and saw the words, he cracked up. I then pulled his real gift out of hiding and gave it to him. He says I'm mean! :-)
