some traffic help, please

Thanks to everyone for watching and writing in this morning during our coverage of the icy weather. What a mess on the roads!
We find out about accidents a few ways: Police/EMS scanner traffic, making regular phone calls to the Highway Patrol and police departments, our 120 traffic cameras and YOU! We have some tipsters who give us a call when they see a traffic problem. Those eyes on the road help us provide fresh information when dispatchers are too busy to talk with us.
We'd love to have you out there looking for traffic problems and letting us know when you see them. The number to our On-Time Traffic Line is 919-890-6200. We're getting another toll-free number ready, as well. Your reports will help improve our traffic coverage on WRAL-TV, WRAL.com, Mix 101.5 and 99.9 the Fan.
When you call, try to give us as much information as you can -- especially which lanes are being affected, nearest cross streets, if it's moved to the shoulder, etc. That helps us get a better handle on what's happening.
Now, this number isn't for personalized traffic reports! We don't have time for that. But your information would help us out a lot!
