Most hispanics never show up in court...I've witnessed that countless times. They are long gone, and never to be found. Many have multiple names and no known address to aid in the art of deception. Now many are "graduating" into gang and illegal drug trade. Having said that, I recently had some very hard working hispanics install carpet in my home. The problem is the criminals...duh. Reminds me of when Castro send all those felons to FL many years ago. He is still laughing.

We will eventualy stand up and fight. Go build your own country and stop stealing the one our fathers built. Stop whinning about how bad it is in Mexico and fight to fix it, don't overpopulate, over-saturate the job market, and ruine this one like where you came from.

What we are doing is helping the poor. I've been to Mexico before, and their laws are NOT enforced like they are here. Parts of rural Mexico are like third-world countries. These people coming here are only seeking better living conditions, but have a habit of getting away with a lot of illegal things...like drunk friving. I think they are here to stay...too many to send back. We must continue to change their behaviors from non-enforcement to compliance. We can continue to deny them their status, but in doing so we are only prolonging making things better for all. What I worry about the most is that our borders are apparently an open door to anyone who wans to enter the US. This is very dangerous considering the hatred towards America from across the world. Our borders need sealing up...this is the most important issue at hand. Whatever we need to do to close them, we must do that now.

Under the present citeria? WHO in America is legal with the Exception of Native Americans who were here first..everybody who came after them was illegal along with their illegal decendents..

avalos, You say you are trying to do everything right..... then go back with your spouse to the country they are from and apply to come to our country legally. People who do the right thing obey the law.

Any guesses to who's footing the bill for these dirtbags, even after the human cost? Look left to your neighbor, right to your other neighbor, then pull your own wallet out...

I'm on a roll here!!! If employers have to know status to hire then please explain to me why law enforcement can't figure out who is illegal.

Anyone who is hurt or has a family member hurt by a repeat offender that is illegal should be able to sue. Also true if ofender was allowed to keep driving with many Dui's citizen or not!

My thought is one snowflake does nothing but enough can stop a city from functioning.... meaning it is time to form one voice to pressure our officials to DO SOMETHING !! Anybody have ideas about a group effort push for change?? lets quit just complaining and demand change.

Drunk drivers getting a slap on the wrist has always angered me and we have had too many killed by drunks who have many DUI's on their record. Anyone remember the little girl in Durham way back that was killed by a guy who had 7 or more DUI's?? If we know the illegals don't show up to court why don't we have anyone smart enough in our city hall to figure out a better system. Lets all quit just talking and start demanding that our elected officials change things. 1) write, call, visit your representatives 2) ask candidates what they would do 3) push for stores that sell alcohol to use simple breath analyzers before you can buy( we have the technology) I have seen people leaving an ABC store staggering and get in a car and drive away (yes I reported it for all the good that does. I wanted to cause a rear end so he would get caught!!) 4) if Dui's spend time being processed they should be kept if illegal and deported.

"I don't see a problem with someone being married to an illigal because you never know who you are going to fall in love with."

I see your point and I'll agree that we don't really have control over our hearts and our feelings. However, we DO have control over our actions. Love does not excuse one from abiding by the law. Neither does Love give people the right to make poor decisions. We are still responsible for our own actions. Should a person find themselves in love with an person here illegally, they should either make the decision to move back to the other country or ensure that the person goes through the proper channels to become a LEGAL citizen! In either case, it has no bearings on the fact that an inordinate number of dui cases are committed by illegal immigrants. Something needs to be done to stop this trend.

Illegal aliens came into our country knowing they were breaking our laws. Why then are we so surprised when they also commit document fraud, murder, rape, crimes against children, burglary, drive without a license, without insurance and while intoxicated. Why are we surprised when they do not follow our laws when they have shown they don't care about breaking them when they entered our country illegally. I am not saying that all illegal aliens commit crimes beyond entering our country illegally, however if they really cared about making a new life and cared about America and Americans, they would do it legally. They would make it a priority to learn English, follow our laws and respect our country. If they do not want that or are here illegally, they need go home.
