rockies will give playoff share to family of dead coach

Before I learned what I am about to share with you, I couldn't have cared less who wins this year's World Series between the Colorado Rockies and the Boston Red Sox.
If any of you were looking for a reason to root for one particular team, read this:
On July 22, Rockies minor league third base coach Mike Coolbaugh was struck by a line drive during a game and died. Coolbaugh left behind a pregnant wife and two young sons.
This story broke my heart, I couldn't help but think about this man's family, and how they would go on without a husband/father, and without Mike's income. Trust me when I say a minor league coach doesn't make life-altering money.
I read last week that the Rockies players voted to include Coolbaugh's family by giving them a full share of the team's playoff winnings. From what I've researched, the minor league affiliates do not get ANY playoff winnings from their major league team.
All I can say is "WOW"
As a father of two boys, I have always planned ahead for my family, should something happen to me. Who knows if Coolbaugh did this? One can only hope. Mike never made a lot of money in baseball. He spent most of his playing days in the minor leagues, playing for the love of the game, and the dream of making it big in the Major Leagues.
I commend the Rockies players for making this unselfish decision, and I am now rooting heavily for the Colorado Rockies to win it all... to help the family of Mike Coolbaugh.
