part time job

Published Sep 18, 2007

I have been retired for about three years and love it! I get to spend time with my family and friends but most importantly I am available for my grandson if I'm needed. I like to spend some my free time volunteering at Theatre in the Park and at the Apex Community Center with Jessica Puckett, Senior Coordinator. Lunch and a movie weekly with my great friend, Beverly, is also a must. But I still found time on my hands so I started working on a "need" basis at Make an Impression in Holly Springs which is owned by Jim and Dawn Joseph. Truly great people and the other employees are also super. If they have a big job and need some quick help I get a call. Works out just right . One of my newer activities (just started in June) is working out at a Curves in Apex. If you look at my profile picture you can see I waited about 30 years too long to begin:) But, really, it is never too late to start to exercise. Imagine my surprise when the manager, Tina, asked me if I would like to work there part time. Since one of my greatest abilities is talking it seemed like a perfect match. I am now in the "training mode" and have a lot left to learn but I look forward to being able to help other women who come in wanting to make a change in their lives. Retirement is wonderful but so is staying busy.

i wish i was retired- my face hurts

I got 20+ yrs to wait, or win the lottery

Hoo-rah, rah-rah! I know the Joseph's, and used Make An Impression exclusively during my years as the Marketing Director for Theatre In The Park. They do good work; says a lot to me about you that you worked with them. I'm sure you succeed at just about everything you do, though. ;)

Being retired is wonderful,as I am also, and like Bones said, staying active is the key. I walk three miles a day whether outside or on the treadmill. Makes a body good!

Sounds like you are enjoying yourself...

good for you..stay active and all that..
