a cool new feature: upload multiple photos at once in a zip file

Tired of uploading pictures to your image galleries one-by-one?
Well guess what? Those days are officially over.
We now have a new feature in place that allows you to upload a zip file containing numerous photos and they will all show up in your gallery AND allow you to create captions.
I think that's pretty cool, and I hope you do too.
After you create your gallery, name it and choose the location and category from the drop down menus, you will be taken to the upload page.
On that page, you will now see an option that says "Click here to use the zip upload form instead."
If you select that option, you'll be taken to another page and that's where you'll do the upload. It'll be pretty clear, but I just want you to know what to expect. After that, all of the photos will show up on the page, along with their existing file names and a box to add captions. (It's a pretty big box, so get those details in.)
And don't thank me for this one. A pretty cool software developer named Nate gets the kudos here.
So, if that's enough information for you and you're ready to get started, you can check out here. But if you want to learn how to create a zip file with existing photos, I'll explain...
Again, if you don't need a tutorial, go ahead and bail.
Now for those of you who have a whole bunch of photos on your computer and want to create a zip file, try this.
Open up the folder holding your photos.
Select all that you want to upload.
right click and choose SEND TO
then choose COMPRESSED (ZIPPED) Folder.
Once you do that, you should check that folder and you'll see that it contains a new folder icon that looks like it's being zipped.
All of those photos should be in that zipped folder and THAT'S what you'll want to upload.
After that, you'll get that page I mentioned above with all of the images and boxes for captions.
I hope this feature will encourage everyone to create more image galleries. I know I will.
