what to use to remove sticker from vehicle, without chipping paint?

What is the best way to remove a sticker from a vehicle, without chipping paint? Suggestions, other than not to put stickers on vehicles? Thanks.

You can buy a small bottle of something called "Goo Gone" and it can be found at any fabric store.

Once you get the bulk of the sticker off, the gummy mess left behind will come off with this and it's safe enough to use on painted surfaces. Works great!

You can try rubbing alcohol, it will loosen some adhesives. If that dosen't work you might try paint thinner or nail polish remover, however if you use these test the solvent on an out of the way place (inside a door post or trunk) to see if it dulls the sheen of the paint.

Use a hair drier and get it real warm. Then start at the corners and lift slowly. It the hair drier won't get it hot enough then you might have to try a commercial heat gun. Be extremely careful if you graduate to the comercial heat thing.

Hair dryer to heat it up and a plastic putty knife, they under a $1.0 at any ace hardware.
