GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police are asking for the public's help to identify the remains of a man who was found dead at 201-C Fedelon Trail on July 4.

The body was discovered in an abandoned house behind Affordable Storage, which is off North William Street. Authorities said they believe the man died two to three weeks before he was found.

The Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting in the investigation and has determined the remains are that of a white man, at least 50 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches in height. He was wearing a short sleeve T-shirt and unhemmed Polo blue jeans. The man had pre-existing injuries to his left ankle and left arm, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Dwayne Bevell at 580-4218.
