GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police arrested a 16-year-old Tuesday and charged him with stealing ice cream from a truck.

Officer Jeff Beeken said he was patrolling in the 800 block of N. George St. when he saw a teen, later identified as Jodeci Rivers, walking with "an extremely large black bag on his back," according to police.

The bag contained a large amount of various types of ice cream, police said. When asked where he lives, Rivers said the "streets of Goldsboro," according to police.

Officer Gilstrap responded to the Pet Milk and Ice Cream Company at 1105 N. William St. and discovered that three truck locks had been cut off, police said. Dean Holmes, of Pet Milk and Ice Cream Company, said the ice cream could not be salvaged.

Police charged Rivers with felony breaking and entering; felony larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, possession of burglary tools, and misdemeanor damage to property.

He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $17,500 bond.
