Goldsboro police arrest 'armed, dangerous' murder suspect

— Goldsboro police officers on Monday arrested a murder suspect they described as "armed and dangerous."

Monterio Devon Newsome, 20, of Goldsboro was wanted for the killing of Craig Doubt III on Sept. 7. Newsome turned himself in to police Monday and was put in jail under no bond.

Doubt died after being shot, authorities said. Police found him on the ground behind 1722 E. Maple St. He died the next day after being taken to Wayne Memorial and Pitt Memorial hospitals.

    I am glad that he's off the streets. I hope that this brings peace to Craig Jr (dad) and Ms. Leigh. This Newsome guy had terrorized the neighborhood for so long and thought he was invincible. Kudos to GPD for handling the case with dignity.
