GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man wanted on a murder charge has surrendered, police reported Friday.

Investigators said Jamel Rashon Edwards, 24, of North William Street, turned himself in Thursday night at the Goldsboro Police Department. He was being held in the county jail without bond.

Edwards is facing a murder charge in the shooting death of Anthony Holloman, 26, of George Street.

Holloman was taken by private vehicle to Wayne Memorial Hospital shortly before dawn on Dec. 20 with a gunshot wound. Deputies said he died at the hospital.

Investigators said they obtained an arrest warrant for Edwards after conducting several interviews and reviewing evidence.

Edwards is scheduled for a first court appearance Monday.
