Goldsboro man wanted on attempted murder charge

Goldsboro police asked for the public's help Wednesday in finding a man wanted on a charge of attempted murder.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police asked for the public's help Wednesday in finding a man wanted on a charge of attempted murder.

Darryl Allen Jr., 23, also faces a kidnapping charge in connection with the Oct. 4 incident at his 415 Wilson St. home. Police said that the victim was seriously injured.

The charges against Allen were filed on Nov. 3.

More details of the case, including the victim's identity, haven't been released.

Allen was convicted in 2005 of discharging a firearm into property and sentenced to probation, according to state Department of Correction records. In 2006, he was convicted of assault on an officer, misdemeanor breaking-and-entering and resisting arrest and served 2½ months in jail.
