Clinton chase, crash
CLINTON, N.C. — A Goldsboro man was being held in the Duplin County jail Monday night after leading authorities on a two-county chase before crashing in Clinton.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Tari Antwaun Raspberry, who was wanted on outstanding charges in Duplin County, fled from deputies there on Monday afternoon. When he crossed the Sampson County line, troopers took over the chase.

On Pugh Road in Clinton, Raspberry's Chevy Tahoe collided with a trooper's patrol car and then crashed into a pole. A photo from a WRAL viewer shows the Tahoe on top of the trooper's car.

Raspberry, of 806 N. Taylor St., Apt. B in Goldsboro, was treated and released at Sampson County Regional Hospital and taken to the Duplin County jail. The charges against him were not released.

The trooper was not injured and has returned to work.
