Goldsboro man charged with kidnapping, assault

A Goldsboro man was charged Friday after authorities say he kidnapped, robbed and beat a man in August.

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — A Goldsboro man was charged Friday after authorities say he kidnapped, robbed and beat a man in August.

According to authorities, Braddock Bernard Gross II, of Goldsboro, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, first degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a firearm within enclosure with the intent to incite fear.

Police said Gross kidnapped Justin Edward Kornegay at gun point and drive him to various locations within Wayne County. An investigation revealed that during the ongoing assault, Kornegay was shot in the leg and hit in the face, head and body. Gross stole the man's debit card and was forced at gunpoint to make cash withdraws, police said.

Gross was being held under a $800,000 secured bond.
