— A 22-year-old Goldsboro man was charged Monday in connection with two sexual assaults that happened in June, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.

Michael McLean Smith, of 242 Mt. Airy Road, faces two counts of statutory rape/statutory sex offense.

According to investigators, Smith lied about his age to two underage girls before assaulting them. He was arrested Monday on a dirt path in the northern end of Wayne County after a brief search.

Smith was in the Wayne County jail Tuesday under a $950,000 secured bond.

The last vestige of perverted behavior that is defined by society is sex with a child. When will this be the next envelope to push against.

*The government needs to step in and do something about the epidemic of stupidity and ignorance and sexual obsession running rampant in this society.*

No, our society needs to get over its Victorian-age views about sex. Kids need to know a lot more than they're told so that they can protect themselves better and so that these types of behavioral problems can be discovered earlier on and treated before his types assault innocent victims.

And as I point out on all of these posts, note that this was a "straight" man.
