Goldsboro man charged in burglary, sexual assault

A Goldsboro man faces charges that he broke into a home and sexually assaulted a woman Wednesday, police said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man faces charges that he broke into a home and sexually assaulted a woman Wednesday, police said.

Freddie Antonio Tann, 34, of 708 Rudolph St., was charged with second-degree sexual offense, first-degree burglary and two counts of assault on a female.

Police characterized the incident as domestic and declined to release more details.

Tann was arrested Thursday and placed in the Wayne County jail without bond. A judge could grant him bond at his first court appearance on July 18.

Tann has a criminal record dating to 1993 and is on probation for 2010 convictions for five counts of driving with a revoked license, according to state Department of Correction records.

His 14 other convictions include armed robbery, assault on a female and felony drug offenses.
