Goldsboro man accused of robbing woman in her driveway

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man is accused of following a woman home from Walmart and robbing her at gunpoint.

David James Porter Jr., 19, of 1617 E. Elm St., is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

On July 12, a 20-year-old woman from the Eureka community filed a report with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office stating that she was robbed at gunpoint while in her driveway.

The woman told deputies she had been shopping at Walmart on Spence Avenue prior to the robbery. She said a vehicle had followed her home from the store.

Before fleeing the scene, the man fired one shot but did not injure the her.

Porter was arrested on Friday at his home and transported to the Wayne County jail. He was being held under a $50,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and deputies said other suspects could be arrested.
