Goldsboro, N.C. — Fans of all sizes came out to support American Idol contestant Majesty Rachelle York, known as Majesty Rose, throughout the day on Thursday.
In the morning there were the little ones – those who make up Rose’s preschool class at the Goldsboro YMCA.
She’s their teacher.
The kids had their own pep rally, complete with pictures and posters.
It was the adults’ turn in the evening.
They sat in front of a big screen to watch Majesty perform.
Two of her biggest fans were also watching – Majesty’s mother and boyfriend.
“I was (nervous) but at the same time I knew she was doing a good job,” said her boyfriend, John Bergman. “Her vocals were clear.”
Majesty was voted ‘Most Likely to be on American Idol’ while at Eastern Wayne High School.
“Seeing her up there, we knew she was going to be there,” said her mother, Lori Grant. “We knew she was gonna hit the big stage, sooner or later.”
Others in the room were just as ecstatic.
“Yeah, she’s hometown, and we think she should win,” said Helen Potts. “So we’re here to support her, and we’re going to support her.”
