Goldsboro arrests convenience store robber

Posted July 17, 2008

— A Goldsboro man has been arrested in the robbery of a convenience store Tuesday.

Marquailus Heyward Bryant allegedly robbed the Kangaroo at 901 W. Grantham St. using a gun that had been stolen from a Vanderbilt Circle home in June.

Bryant, 19, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen firearm. He was being held at the Wayne County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.

Goldsboro police said they expected to make additional arrests in the case, but asked that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or Investigator Chris Crawford at 919-580-4213.

I'm pretty sure the headline here is incorrect. "Goldsboro arrests convenience store robber" should only be used if the person alledged to have commmitted the crime has been judged and found guilty. If the person has not yet been judged and found guilty, then the headline should read something along these lines: "Goldsboro arrests suspect in convenience store robbery"
