One of my favorite parts of summer, beyond catching fireflies, pool time and watermelon, is relaxing in a cool movie theater with my girls to catch a free or incredibly cheap summer movie.

Many theaters across the region offer weekday morning screenings of G- or PG-rated movies for free or really cheap in the summer. Other theaters are cheap all year, including the weekends. And other venues - outdoor amphitheaters, museums, libraries - offer free or inexpensive movies in the summer and even all year.
