I'm very excited to announce that Go Ask Mom and the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences have teamed up to offer a special discount on museum memberships as part of the museum's great Rainforest Adventure exhibit.
All day, on Thursday, June 5, you can get a family membership for $55 instead of $70 by asking for the "Go Ask Mom 5" special at the museum box office or museum stores. You also can enter the code GOASKMOM5 when purchasing a family membership online.

I have a family membership and use the benefits all of the time. The annual membership will get you in free for the whole run of Rainforest Adventure, plus you'll get free admission to the museum's next big exhibit, The World's Largest Dinosaurs!

In addition to free admission to the museum's special exhibits, you'll get a discount on birthday parties; discount and priority registration for summer camps (which I highly recommend); discount at the museum store; special events for members; and hospitality areas at some of the museum's big events such as BugFest.

I use our membership to go to the museum's special exhibits multiple times and to ensure my older daughter gets a summer camp spot. And we hope to get to some of those special events this year.

The membership also gets you free or discounted membership to more than 300 science museums around the world, a great perk especially if you're traveling this summer. This deal has come in handy for me more than once.

Another bonus: Your $55 family membership is fully tax deductible.

Rainforest Adventure takes visitors on a maze through the rainforest. They have to answer questions to proceed from one part of the exhibit to the next. It's fun, engaging and active. There are monkey bars and a quick zipline in the middle of the exhibit. Tickets are $7 for adults; $5 for children ages 3 to 12; and $6 for students, seniors and military.

The World's Largest Dinosaurs will open in October 2014.

It wouldn't take more than two to three visits to these special exhibits for a family membership to pay for an average family of four or five to visit them. Plus, you're supporting the great work of this award-winning museum.
