Giveaway: McDonald's $25 gift card & free coupons!

This week, we have a profile of a McDonald's owner/operator who is also a dad!

McDonald's owner/operator, Gaffney Gunter, grew up in a household that thrived on the entrepreneurial spirit. With a father that started his own business and nurtured it right alongside young Gaffney, he was able to see the hard work and determination that went into being a business owner.

A dad to Angie (8) and Jayden (5), Gaffney and his wife, Denisse, are McDonald's owner/operators living in Knightdale – a short drive to their four restaurants in Raleigh and Wake Forest. Gaffney spent many years learning the McDonald’s way, having served and managed in the McDonald’s organization since 1993. He took the leap to become an owner/operator six years ago and hasn’t looked back since.

When asked what he liked best about his job as a McDonald’s owner/operator, Gaffney responded that it’s the people he works with every day. “I enjoy getting to see the crew members and managers in our restaurants grow and develop. Through their careers at McDonald’s, they are able to lead by example not only in the restaurant but also in the community.”

When he is not hard at work, Gaffney is a true Renaissance man, enjoying fiction writing and oil painting. He has also competed in mud races and half marathons. His true passion is when he is able to merge his community involvement with his McDonald’s company, by helping volunteer and donate to area churches as well as several public and charter schools across the Triangle.
