    My dad is awesome!

My Dad passed away last November 28th (wouldn't ya know it would be Black Friday since he hated shopping.) and he lived in Nebraska almost all of his life. What I miss the most is the memory of being able to call him and tell him jokes I had heard that day and he would do the same. Some of them would be down right silly, funny and sometimes raunchy but they always had me laughing.

My Dad was my hunting and fishing partner! Loved spending time when him doing outdoor activities as I grew up! Sure do miss him now that he has passed....

When I was little, after working all day, my Dad would come home & take me out on the boat fishing for flounder in the Chesapeake Bay. We'd fish until the edge of dark & when we would get home Mom would have dinner ready for us & we'd eat together as a family. A few years ago Dad & I went deep sea fishing. (Right around the time Titanic came out - I was looking for the location of the life boats!) Loved Daddy & Daughter fishing time.

When my daughter was little, my husband drove her to day care. He would play songs by ACDC and tell dd not to tell Mom. :)

I loved all the time spent with my dad doing Indian Princesses! He was grey bear & my name was Wind Dancer...such sweet memories too many to count!

We surprised my daddy with an 80th birthday party. My son brought he and my mom over to the venue. Daddy was a big talker, but he was initially speechless when he realized what was happening. I invited several deacons from our church. Daddy was wearing a Budweiser t-shirt! Nevertheless, a good time was had by all!

I used to like to run to the end of the street to meet my dad when he came home from work. He would let me sit in his lap and help "drive" the car home. He had a beautiful baby blue convertible that we "drove" One day after he painted the garage and left the paint brushes to clean in the turpentine, I painted the entire side of that car then drank some of the turpentine and had to have my stomach pumped. Bet that's a fond memory for him too!

I remember my dad taking me to the annual Christmas Parade in Raleigh...and after that we would go pick out our Christmas tree. My dad is awesome :)
