Every year we list our Five Favorite barbecue joints, but we have decided that this year it should be up to you!

Just tell us your Five Faves in the comments below and be sure to list why you love these places so much. The top five places mentioned will become your Five Fave: Best BBQ list for 2013!

Here's a rundown of the places we selected last year - Hog Heaven (Durham), Bill's Barbecue and Chicken (Wilson), Smokey's BBQ (Morrisville), Bullock's BBQ (Durham) and Big Al's (Raleigh).

And the 2011 list included The Pit (Raleigh), Clyde Cooper's (Raleigh), Ole Time, Allen and Son (Chapel Hill) and Danny's (Cary, RTP).

You have until Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. to give us your picks! We will reveal your Five Faves on Sept. 23!
