Girls accused of stealing Cumberland sheriff's bait car

A 17-year-old girl was arrested and charges were pending against a juvenile who are accused of stealing a Cumberland County sheriff's bait car.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 17-year-old girl was arrested and charges were pending against a juvenile who are accused of stealing a Cumberland County sheriff's bait car.

Surveillance video shows the juvenile in the driver's seat and Myesha Tiangela Danyell Monroe in the passenger's seat, according to the sheriff's office. The juvenile's name was not released.

Authorities said the girls found the bait car along a rural county road on Tuesday. Both were seen on surveillance video stealing the vehicle and taking items left inside, the sheriff's office said.

Monroe was charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, conspiracy to commit a felony, felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny of stolen goods and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.

She was processed in the Cumberland County Detention Center and released to the custody of her parents.
