Drivers should expect heavier-than-usual delays around the area and fewer parking options.
The race is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. with a 1.2-mile swim at Jordan Lake. Athletes will then complete a 56-mile bike ride through Chatham and Wake counties before entering downtown Raleigh to transition to the closing 13.1-mile run.
Raleigh police and other law enforcement agencies will shut down several streets during the event:
- Fayetteville Street between David and Lenoir (12 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday)
- Right lane of U.S. Highway 64 between Pear Ridge and Beaver Creek (7 to 10 a.m. Sunday)
- Lake Wheeler Road north of Tryon (9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday)
- Exits from Beltline to Lake Wheeler Road (9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday)
- Saunders Street between Lake Wheeler Road and South Street (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday)
- South Street between Saunders and Wilmington streets (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday)
- Left lane of Wilmington between South Street and Edenton (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday)
- Left lane of Edenton between Wilmington and Salisbury (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday)
- Salisbury between Edenton and Hillsborough (9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday)
- Hillsborough Street between Salisbury Street and Meredith College (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday)
- Fayetteville Street between Morgan and Lenoir (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday)
