RALEIGH, N.C. — Things are getting hot and spicy at Jose and Sons in Raleigh during a 10-day event to benefit the Raleigh Rescue Mission.

The Spice Festival, which starts Thursday and runs through Sunday, Nov. 24, celebrates the Thanksgiving spirit using spice and spices in food and drink, owner Charlie Ibarra said.

The Spice menu, which is in addition to the normal dinner menu, will include stuffed peppers (jalapeno poppers, Chile relleno entrees), spicy cocktails and spiced beers. Don't worry - the levels of spice will be denoted on the menu.

The Out and About team is especially excited about the cocktails, including a habanero-cilantro infused mojito and a chipotle-mango margarita. Ibarra said there will also be a Mole beer from New Holland on tap.

Proceeds from the special menu will benefit the Raleigh Rescue Mission.
