Get Fit: Boot Camp Moms offers 'fast, furious workout'
Jennifer Pinder and Kyle Furlow, Raleigh moms and owners of Boot Camp Moms, share the first of several quick workouts that you can do at home.
Posted — UpdatedI introduced Jennifer Pinder and Kyle Furlow in July. The Raleigh moms are owners of Boot Camp Moms, which has been helping moms and others get fit for three years.
Well, Jen and Kyle are back here on Go Ask Mom starting today. They'll be sharing what they like to call "fast and furious workouts."
For those of us who exercise already, these are quick, 20 minute workouts you can do on days that you don't hit the gym or the pavement for a walk or run. For those who are looking to get into shape, it's an easy and good way to get started. Jen and Kyle offer modified versions of many of the exercises.
And you need very little equipment other than a mat or towel and some three, five or eight pound weights or, if you don't have any, water bottles or cans of food.
So let's get started! Kyle and Jen demonstrate the exercises in the video. Here's a quick rundown of the workout (again, it's best to watch the video to see how it's all done).
Then, do all of the following exercises for 30 seconds with a 15 second rest period, four times:
- Jumping jacks (or jumping jacks with tucks for the advanced version)
- Reverse lunges with weights (or tricep extensions with reverse lunges for the advanced version)
- Plank (Up, up, down, downs for the advanced)
- 50 squats (or squat jumps for the advanced)
