Gas leak prompts evacuation of downtown Raleigh building

Raleigh, N.C. — A downtown Raleigh building was evacuated Monday morning after firefighters responded to a natural gas leak.
The leak was reported at 227 S. Salisbury St. The building houses the state's probation office.
Traffic was reduced to one lane on Salisbury Street for most of the day. The lane was expected to reopen late Monday night.
