Students allowed back in Fayetteville school after gas leak

Students and faculty were temporarily forced out of Fayetteville's William H. Owen Elementary School Monday morning due to a gas leak.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Students and faculty were temporarily forced out of Fayetteville's William H. Owen Elementary School Monday morning due to a gas leak.

Fayetteville Fire Department crews responded to the school, at 4533 Raeford Road, shortly before 11 a.m.

Students and faculty were allowed back in shortly after 12:30 p.m.

An investigation of the cause of the leak is ongoing.
