Garysburg man attacked while on mower, dies

— A Garysburg man has died after being attacked over the weekend, police said Wednesday.

Thomas Charles Watson, 58, was on a riding lawn mower on Apple Street at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday when someone hit him on the head, police said.

Watson was taken to Halifax Memorial Hospital and then was transferred to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, where he died Sunday, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning, and the case remains under investigation.

    This one is easy to figure out,not the time of year to cut grass,it was his transportation to the liquor store but his trip was cut short and my guess it was a thug that cut it short and needed money for crack.

    This is a strange story. Why report a story with so little information? Leaves alot to the imagination, doesn't it? Sorry for the family who lost their love one and hopefully they will find out more information than is reported.
