GARNER, N.C. — A Garner man has been charged as a fugitive who fled rape and assault charges in Tennessee, according to arrest warrants.

Dontay Derwen Jones, 18, of 113 Alaverde Way, faces charges of aggravated rape and assault in Anderson County in Tennessee. The charges stem from an incident that occurred three years ago.

He also faces charges of possession of marijuana in Wake County. He was arrested and placed in the Wake County jail Sunday under a $501,000 secured bond.

Jones' mother, Latausha Pinkney, has filed court documents claiming that he is incompetent to manage his affairs or make important decisions and requesting that a guardian be appointed for him.  The documents state that he has been diagnosed with schiozoaffective disorder and has been hospitalized recently.
