Garner man accused of beating teen son

— A Garner man faces a child abuse charges for allegedly beating his 14-year-old son, according to an arrest warrant.

Hugh Lee Bradford, 52, of 1703 Cranston Road, was charged Monday with intentional child abuse inflicting serious physical injuries.

The warrant states that Bradford beat his 14-year-old son in April, causing multiple lacerations on the boy's arms, back, face, ear and head. Child Protective Services was involved in the investigation.

Bradford was placed in the Wake County jail under a $10,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

If he is released on bond, Bradford must not have any contact with his son or anyone under age 17, court papers state.

    Sounds like he went a little overboard. Got my share of whipping at 14, was told I would get one if I left to shoot pool. Went anyway so I knew the whipping was coming. My little brother followed me, told him we were going to get a whipping. He went anyway. I laugh so hard watching him run around in circle that I got another whipping on top of the 1st one. Maybe it'll keep em out of jail.
