Garner High principal resigns

The principal of Garner High School, Michael Holton, resigned his position with the Wake County Public School System Tuesday, a district spokesman said. A reason for the departure was not given.

GARNER, N.C. — The principal of Garner High School, Michael Holton, resigned his position with the Wake County Public School System on Tuesday, a district spokesman said.

Greg Thomas, spokesman for Wake County schools, said he was not aware of the reason for Holton's departure.

Holton began his career with the school district in 2000, as an assistant principal at Enloe High School. He became principal of East Garner Middle School in March 2003 and principal of Garner High in August 2006.
