Garner Food Lion robbed

Investigators said three men entered the store shortly before 9:30 a.m. and fled on foot.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police said they are questioning four men after an armed robbery at a local grocery store Tuesday morning.

Investigators said three men, one with a hand gun and another with a knife, entered the Food Lion at U.S. Highway 401 and Ten Ten Road shortly before 9:30 a.m. They fled on foot after taking cash from a couple registers.

They were last seen headed behind the Food Lion, toward Ten Ten Road.

Police said the men being questioned are in custody but have not been arrested or charged in the robbery. A tip lead police to the location of the four men.

Officers said they expect to make some arrests in case soon.

Exact descriptions of the men, were not immediately available, but anyone with information about the robbery should contact police.
