Garner Father Dies on Fishing Trip With Son

William Curtis Freeman, 37, was with his son, Hunter, when he fell out of the boat, police said. The two were fishing at a pond at the 6600 block of Rock Quarry Road.

WAKE COUNTY — A Garner man died Saturday afternoon while on a fishing trip with his 11-year-old son.

William Curtis Freeman, 37, was with his son, Hunter, when he fell out of the boat, police said. The two were fishing at a pond at the 6600 block of Rock Quarry Road.

Hunter dialed 911 on a cell phone and called for help, police said.

Freeman's body was later found and transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Chapel Hill. There were no signs that alcohol was involved.
