— Garner police were looking for the man who they said robbed a First Citizens Bank Thursday.

Police said a black man wearing a dark jacket, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans presented a note to a teller at the bank, at 2520 Timber Drive, and got away with an unspecific amount of money. The man was about 6 foot 2 and weighed about 190 pounds. He had a dark complexion and thin mustache, police said.

No one was injured, and the man did not show a weapon, police said.

Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call Garner police at 919-772-8810.

He gave the teller a note and she gave him money. Appears that this should be considerated a donation. How can it be considered a robbery with no weapon? He must have been pretty good at wording his request.

It was Thursday (yesterday). Saw the police tape and car blocking driveway to bank on way home yesterday. I suspect the police know the man's color, but it was not included in the 'news' article here for whatever reason you wish to think.

3forme--I live down the road from this bank, and it definitely happened sometime yesterday afternoon(my husband drove by and saw the cops everywhere). Must be an error about the "Friday" thing.

    MLWoman--completely agree with you!

Racial profiling?????? Are the police not allowed to know what race a robber is because it might hurt his self-esteem???? We ALL are one race or another and if Law Enforcement and the general public aren't allowed to know what ethnicity the suspect is, how hard will that make it to apprehend the criminal? Common sense has been crowded out by political correctness!

time to start arming the tellers.
Wouldn't the robber be suprised when the nice little lady behind the counter answers the note with a wad of cash in one hand and a 9mm in the other......and uses it
