Garbage truck, school bus wreck in Garner
A garbage truck ran a red light and hit the bus at the intersection of Creech and West Garner roads, Wake County public schools' spokesman Greg Thomas said. The bus was headed to Timber Drive Elementary School.

Four of the children on the bus were taken to a nearby hospital after complaining of neck and back pain. They have since been released. The remaining 24 children were taken to school.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
