DURHAM, N.C. — A garbage truck caught fire in downtown Durham on Tuesday morning, threatening a construction site nearby.

At 6:45 a.m., firefighters were still fighting smoke coming from the charred truck on West Corporation Street near Rigsbee Avenue.
