Garbage truck fire in Durham threatens nearby apartments
A garbage truck caught fire in downtown Durham on Tuesday morning, threatening a construction site nearby.

DURHAM, N.C. — A garbage truck caught fire in downtown Durham on Tuesday morning, threatening a construction site nearby.
At 6:45 a.m., firefighters were still fighting smoke coming from the charred truck on West Corporation Street near Rigsbee Avenue.
The fire came close to the Atlas Apartments, a complex under construction, but crews were able to control the spread.
No one was injured.
