Gander Mountain closing in Morrisville, Charlotte

The outdoor chain Gander Mountain is filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and closing 32 underperforming stores including those in Morrisville, at 2100 Village Market Place, and in Charlotte. The chain has 7 other stores in North Carolina, including on on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. — The outdoor chain Gander Mountain is filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and closing 32 underperforming stores including those in Morrisville, at 2100 Village Market Place, and in Charlotte. The chain has 7 other stores in North Carolina, including on on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh

After Gander Mountain completes the round of consolidation it would have 130 stores across the country.

The company estimated that about 1,300 people would lose their jobs.

Gander Mountain is also the parent company of Overton's (www.overtons.com), a leading catalog- and Internet-based retailer of products for boating and other water sports enthusiasts.
