Carthage, N.C. — A judge has issued a gag order in a murder trial in Moore County.
Bobby Chavis is accused of beating his wife, Audrey, with a baseball bat in 2006 and then smothering her with a pillow. He has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
The judge asked family members in the court to stand and then barred them from talking to the media until the conclusion of the trial.
