Fuquay-Varina woman, teen shot

Fuquay-Varina police are investigating a shooting that injured a 21-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy.

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — Fuquay-Varina police are investigating a shooting that injured a 21-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy.

The shooting happened at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Lawrence Street near West Jones Street, police said.

Samanda Cradle, 21, was shot once in the lower torso. Emergency crews took her to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. She was listed in serious condition Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they found another victim, a 15-year-old boy, on Baytree Street where he fled after being shot. He was also taken to Wake Medical Center to be treated for injuries to his upper thigh. He was treated and released.

The suspected shooters were last seen driving away on Lawrence Street in a late model blue Nissan Maxima or Altima with tinted windows, police said.

The Fuquay-Varina Police Department is offering a reward for information leading to arrest and conviction in the shootings.
