— Fuquay-Varina police are investigating a shooting that injured a 21-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy.

The shooting happened at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Lawrence Street near West Jones Street, police said.

Samanda Cradle, 21, was shot once in the lower torso. Emergency crews took her to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. She was listed in serious condition Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they found another victim, a 15-year-old boy, on Baytree Street where he fled after being shot. He was also taken to Wake Medical Center to be treated for injuries to his upper thigh. He was treated and released.

The suspected shooters were last seen driving away on Lawrence Street in a late model blue Nissan Maxima or Altima with tinted windows, police said.

The Fuquay-Varina Police Department is offering a reward for information leading to arrest and conviction in the shootings.

Anyone with information should call the Fuquay-Varina Police Department at 919-552-3191 or Detective Wenhart at 919-753-1006.

There is nothing wrong with your kid hanging out past 2 AM. The problem is what are they doing and where are they. When my kids stay out until 4 or 5 in the morning I know where they are at all times and with whom. I give them that much trust and they are straight A students and very good kids.

I've wandered around some dangerous areas in my time, but that area creeps me out when I am driving through. Good place for a throughway.

I could understand the 21 year-old being out at 2am as that's when the bars close. And yes, she could be at a bar and not be getting into trouble. Just enjoying a late evening with friends. But a 15 year-old out at that hour, that SCREAMS for Social Services to visit this household. THAT is a parenting problem!

From what I've seen driving through the area, this section of town appears to be the armpit. Gang member wannabees walking the streets with their pitbulls, etc.

21 year old woman and 15 year old male? What were they doing at 2am. Not saying they are to blame but a 15 year old should not be out out the street at 2 in the morning
