Fuquay-Varina, N.C. — A Fuquay-Varina 17-year-old was charged with three felony sex offenses in connection with incidents reported in February and March.
Zachary Sean Ihler, of 909 Sequoia Ridge Drive, is charged with second-degree forcible rape, second-degree forcible sex offense and attempted second-degree forcible rape, according to arrest warrants.
The incidents occurred on Feb. 25 and March 11, arrest warrants said. Wake County district officials said Ihler is a junior at Fuquay-Varina High School.
According to the warrants, two separate 16-year-old females were involved in each incident.
Iher's attorney said his client and father cooperated with police ans spoke to detectives freely after the first allegation.
"Mr. Ihler did not deny that there were amorous intentions, but that when she asked him to stop, he did stop," Ihler's attorney Mike Klinkosum said.
In the second case, the victims claims that Ihler pulled her behind a bus parking area at Fuquay-Varina High School after a baseball game and put his hand down her pants.
"She reported that she was fighting him off physically and verbally telling him no and he persisted in his actions," said prosecutor Meredith Parris.
Klinkosum said Tuesday that the victim did not report the incident but told a friend instead.
"She did not report this to anyone at school; she did not report it to law enforcement or a family member," Klinkosum said.
On Tuesday, Judge Vince Rozier modified Ihler's bond from $500,000 to $200,000 in addition to electronic house arrest. Ihler was due to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
